This week we will mark the 4 month anniversary of Lynn’s murder. On one hand it seems as if the last 4 months have gone in slow motion and it feels more like 4 years since our family received the tragic news……4 months ago the course of our lives were forever changed….nothing can prepare you for the loss, the sorrow, the pain or the confusion that comes along with losing someone in this manner. Nothing can prepare you for the emotional and physical hurricane that becomes your existence from that moment forward. Sometimes it feels that all is lost and there is little hope.
On the other hand, over the last 4 months I have seen an overwhelming pouring out of support, commitment and affirmation from individuals and organizations across Canada, but specifically within the province of BC. These include complete strangers, organizations that support women, organization that speak up against abuse of women and educational institutions. We have connected with several families that also have tragic stories of their own, we can mutually share a common understanding and heartfelt compassion for what we are each going through. We have shared our story and emotions with the media, and the media has treated our family with respect and compassion while relaying our cause. I am thankful to all who have listened, supported and carried my family through the last 4 months.
As we approach the holiday season I want to remind everyone to spent time with your loved ones. Our time on this earth is limited and while we continue to fight for Lynn’s Law and some sort of justice, honor Lynn’s memory by loving others around you and know that there is still good in this world . Lynn believed that and so do I.

And we are off……Well we have made it through the first week of getting the petitions out to the public. I don’t know about anyone else, but this week had been filled with up and downs….I have found myself questioning…..can one person really make a difference in the world?
After much relfection and insight I know the answer is YES. Yes one person can make a difference, and a group of people can make a difference....every single signature is so important in making changes. Don't wonder if you should print the petition and sign because you are only one signature....sign because that one signature can mean change for all people!
Thank you to everyone who has downloaded copies of the petitions. EVERY signature obtained is a voice for us all. This is not just about our family……we are fighting for changes for all of Canada. Our story could be your story, and unfortunately has been the story for many victims of violence. We need to take a stand against those who have, will and would perpetrate against us and say NO MORE ( The funny side of me wants to insert the song "We're not going to take it, oh no we aren't going to take it"...)……I can no longer sit back and be complacent.
Keep the momentum moving forward, make sure you take care of yourself, don’t be scare to question our laws……..we are the people of this nation, we have a responsibility to everyone who lives in Canada.

First off I would like to thank everyone who has supported Lynn's family and friends over the last 2 months. These last 2 months have been a painful blur. Our goal for Lynn's Law is to obtain 100,000 signatures. This is a lofty goal, however keeping in true Lynn spirit we are going for the gusto. We have felt overwhelming support over the last two months and have been uplifted by friends and even complete strangers.
We will continue to post petition signature targets and results in this blog. If you would like to be kept up to date on the latest and greatest please sign up to become a member of this site.
Thank you again for your support!
